Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system that combines aquaculture with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water). Aquaponics can be incorporated with our aquaculture systems in order to sustainably farm large quantities of fruit and vegetables. Water from the aquaculture ponds containing accumulated nutrients are treated with our system in order to assist with the oxidation of compounds in the nitrification process and with the decomposition of organic compounds. This eliminates the possibility of toxic compound assimilation in the water and makes beneficial elements more available for plants to absorb.
